The Addams Family is a video game for the Sega Genesis, Super Nintendo, and other platforms. It was released in 1992.
Story[]
Tully Alford has taken control of The Addams Family Mansion and imprisoned Morticia, Pugsley, Wednesday, Grandmama, and Uncle Fester.
Description[]
It features The Addams Family from the 1991 feature film.
Gameplay[]
The player controls Gomez Addams as he attempts to save them. They have been stowed away in various locations in the mansion and are protected by a boss of some sort. Thing provides hints on gameplay.
Gomez starts outside the mansion, but once inside, he can move from level to level in any order. The mansion is full of secrets, hidden passageways, side levels, and bosses. Gomez dispatches enemies by simply jumping on their heads. He can also throw found objects at them.
The game did not have a save system but instead had a password system. The completion of various stages would reveal passwords, enabling the player to resume where they left off.
Bosses[]
Bosses include:
- Snowman: "A cold, but not heartless man," he seems to be made entirely from snow, with a rotund body, muscular arms, and eerie, orange, glowing eyes. He is also able to roll into a giant snowball. Thing's hints say that the Snowman lurks in the Deep Freeze. When he is found, he attacks by throwing snowballs at Gomez. After he is defeated, Gomez earns a Heart Power Up. Unlike other bosses, he does not guard a family member.
- Centipedes
- Bird in the Old Tree
- Wacky Scientist: A floating, disembodied head that wears a green cover over the top half of his head. Five spinning blades circle him as protection. The Wacky Scientist guards Pugsley, who is locked away near the door, and tries to stop Gomez Addams from rescuing him. Upon defeating the Scientist, Pugsley says that the two of them were working on a new poison for Wednesday.
- Ghastly Goblin
- Fire Dragon
- Witch
- Nasty Judge
