Sidney Lanfield (20 April 1898 – 20 June 1972) was an American film and television director.
He directed 54 episodes of McHale's Navy, and was nominated for an Emmy for his work on that series. However, he was more than a TV director. He was known for directing a number of movies with Bob Hope (although not the Road movies), and directed the very successful first Basil Rathbone Sherlock Holmes movie in 1939, The Hound of the Baskervilles.
