Morticia's Romance: Part 1 is the fourteenth episode of The New Addams Family. It is a remake of the original television series episode of the same name.
Summary[]
Gomez and Morticia are celebrating their 13th Anniversary. Wednesday and Pugsley ask them how they met, so they tell them the story.
Euroda Addams and Griselda Frump had arranged for a marriage between their children, Gomez and Ophelia. Gomez felt no affection for Ophelia, but fell for her sister Morticia at first sight. However, Morticia was to be married to Cousin Vlad. Unable to bear the thought of being apart, they took inspiration from Romeo and Juliet and planned to kill themselves.
When Tish speaks French in the story, Gomez becomes distracting and disrupts the retelling of it. Grandmama concludes that the end of the story will have to wait until tomorrow.
