Allison Janney (born 19 November 1959) is an American actress.

She is a prolific character actress. After years of minor and uncredited film and television appearances, Janney's breakthrough came with the role of C. J. Cregg in the NBC political drama The West Wing (1999–2006), for which she received four Primetime Emmy Awards. Allison has also received three additional Emmys, a BAFTA Award, a Golden Globe Award, and an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress in I, Tonya for her portrayal of Tonya Harding's mother LaVona Golden.
