- He appears to be a medium-sized scent hound breed, possibly a Hanover Hound, Plott Hound, or Bavarian mountain hound.
- Wednesday incorrectly refers to Elvis as a bloodhound (a much larger breed with a heavier body, looser skin, and much bigger ears than Elvis).
- Likely named after Elvis Presley, who had the hit song ‘Hound Dog’, released in 1956.
- The dog being handled by Sheriff Donovan Galpin in the opening scene of episode 2 is not the same dog that is introduced as Elvis later in the episode. The unnamed dog in the opening scene looks to be either a Belgian Malinois or a Dutch Shepherd. The most obvious sign this is a different dog is that it has pricked/erect ears that point upwards, while Elvis has drop ears that hang down. Their overall conformation/body type differ quite a lot too.
