Carolyn Jones was born in Amarillo, Texas, USA. She is best known for her roles in House of Wax, Invasion of the Body Snatchers, and The Addams Family.
Biography[]
In 1958, Jones was nominated for an Oscar for best supporting actress for The Bachelor Party. The same year, she won a Golden Globe Award for most promising newcomer female. Jones died of cancer on the 3rd of August, 1983.

Jones played Morticia Addams in all episodes of the original television series. In addition, she also played Morticia's older sister, Ophelia Frump, in five episodes of the series. She voiced Morticia in the The New Scooby-Doo Movies episode "Wednesday Is Missing". She reprised the roles of Morticia and Ophelia in the television special Halloween with the New Addams Family.
