The Addams Family is a 2019 film and reboot of the Addams Family franchise.
- It provides an origin for Lurch and the Addams' house.
- Great soundtrack.
- Does a great job at combining attributes from previous installments as well as creating new elements.
- Has the moral of not judging someone just because they are different.
- The bully Bethany is a very underused character.
I wonder how much Covid-19 will effect the release of the 2021 animated sequel?
I hope once the film is released that Parker Needler is included in the film.
One of the artists that I follow on deviantART did a Parker Needler x Wednesday Addams drawing for me:
Anyone's opinion of this new ship?

Since they first appeared in Charles Addams's cartoons, the Addams Family have known many iterations, and the characters have been portrayed in many contradicting ways. For example, Wednesday's characterization is very different depending on the medium. Another even more blatent example is how some of the family members are actually related: is Grandmama the mother of Morticia (as in Barry Sonnenfeld's movies), or that of Gomez and Fester (as in The New Addams Family), that of Gomez alone (as in the 1960s series), or even a potential stranger (as in the Musical)? Also, is Wednesday older (as in the Sonnenfeld movies) or younger (as in the 1960s series) than Pugsley?
Let's have a look at how many distinct, self-contained "continuities" there …
I couldn't help but notice that Wednesday's personality description isn't correct. It states that the 1991 film portrayed Wednesday more accurately to the comics. However, Wednesday in the film's is portrayed as sadistic, sarcastic and stoic while Charles Addams describes Wednesday as sensitive, solemn and prim in dressing. The Addams in the comics are a nuclear family with a macabre twist. Wednesday is your typical daughter who does typically girly things (e.g making paper dolls, throws occasional tantrums over little things and plays with her doll house.) while also engaging in a bit of dark activities with her family. She's also a daddy's girl, which is much more similar to the television series and it's portrayal of Wednesday. So all i…

Just finished watching the whole 1973 animated series. Though I love The Addams Family, I have to admit these were pretty bad. When I feel up to it again, I may just subject myself to them again, to help editing here. :)
My son thought Gomez looked more like an Asian businessman until I pointed out that the characters all more resembled the original comics than the 60s show.
There were a number of good Addams moments, but I'd bet this show is more for the completist than the casual Addams fan.
I'm working on something that involves The Addams Family and looking for support. Come over and bug me. ____________________________________________________________________________________
2018 now and I am adding to this. I got my mind and heart in better condition since 2015.
I'm wondering if there is a Community here where Addams fans can chat about The Addams Family in however many aspects. I was investigating and I didn't find one yet, but I could just be rusty. I finally obtained both feature films, and all the 1960's show on DVD as well as "The Addams Family: An Evilution" book that is fun to meditate with. (I use the term meditate loosely here, of course.)
On the Addams family: They are outta this world. I wish I was one of them.
I'm not one to be "gunning for achievements", but I do like to track my progress and maintain discipline by making daily contributions to my fave wikis (like this one!), but it is incredibly frustrating when the "wiki love" achievement counter resets to 1 even after making daily contributions!
I know... "the server time" and all that. It's not that; I make daily contributions on a few other wikis at the same time, in the same order, and the counters have not reset on any of the other wikis.
And it's not the first time that it happens! If not for these resets, I'd be well on the way to my 200-day badge.
Now I'm back to day one. Makes me almost want to give up on this wiki.
Ah, well... let's see what can be fixed... after all, it's only a little…
I never much cared for the animated versions of the Addams Family; animation makes being weird too easy; it's the interaction of live actors and good script that makes the Addams experience truly worthwhile.
