Welcome to Addams Family Wiki! We hope you enjoy your time here. We expect you'll be on your best behavior when editing here, but nonetheless we do have a few rules we ask you to follow.
Everyone makes mistakes, so don't worry if you break one by accident. If it becomes a problem, we will warn you. Continued flouting of the rules after warning may result in a temporary block from editing.
Posting pornography, harassment, or outright vandalism will probably result in an immediate ban without warning.
There are very few policies which apply across all Wikia. These can be found on the Central Wikia at Wikia:Category:Policy.
Adding [[Category:Policy]] to any policy pages will add them to the policy category. This is found here.

Blocking
Users may be blocked on this wiki for the following reasons:
- Asking other users personal information such as age, location, etc.
- Continual edit warring
- Edit farming
- Inserting false information
- Making a personal attack on another user
- Not following discussion/blog guidelines
- Plagiarism
- Recurring harassment including but not limited to:
- Hounding
- Personal or legal threats
- Posting of personal information (also known as doxxing)
- Repeated messaging and ignoring their request to be left alone
- Recurring vandalism or spamming
- Ex. adding anything that is deliberately comical, outlandish, a hoax, hostile, slanderous, or degrading in any way, or removing valid information.
- Repeatedly necroposting after warnings
- Necroposting is replying to a post that is a month old or older.
- Sockpuppetry or abusing multiple accounts
Blocks may begin at 24 hours and will increase depending on the number of offenses and type of offense. If you feel you have been blocked unfairly, you can reach out to an administrator on their Community Central message wall. Only the admin who blocked you can unblock you. If that admin is no longer active, you may message a different admin.
Do not delete warnings or block messages from administrators or moderators. These messages are used to keep track of what a user has been previously given a warning or notice about.
Blogs
Blogs follow the discussion guidelines:
- Be nice and treat people with respect. Keep discussions civil and be open-minded about differing opinions. Cursing at users or excessive cursing is not allowed.
- Threads and posts that solicit upvotes or advertise things outside the wiki will be deleted.
- Off-topic conversations will be deleted. Everything mostly pertains to the Addams Family franchise.
- Impersonation of other users or famous people will not be tolerated. If you have been banned and return on a new account, your posts will be deleted and your new account(s) will be banned.
- Spamming, trolling, or vandalizing of any kind will be deleted and will lead to your account being banned.
- Do not necropost. Necroposting is when a user comments on a thread where the previous comment, or post itself, is a month old (30 days). If you see someone doing this report immediately. Failure to comply after several warnings will result in a block.
Categories
Please do not create new categories without asking an admin or content mod first.
Categories with only one member are completely useless; avoid single-item categories at all times.
Fanon
This is not a fanon wiki. Please do not insert fanon, fan fiction, fan art, or the like into our pages.
Files
AI Files
AI (artificial intelligence) files are digital artwork created or modified by AI. Types of artwork that can be created with AI are images, audio, and video.
AI files are not allowed on:
- Articles
AI files are allowed on:
- User pages
- Blogs
- Posts
When using AI art, you must state that it is ai.
Files on articles
Files that are uploaded to articles must be appropriate not only in looks but in name as well.
Files on user pages
Files that are uploaded for personal use must be appropriate not only in looks but in name as well. If a file is unused after a week since being uploaded or last used, it will be deleted.
Formatting
Contribute to the wiki in line with the established processes and conventions. Need help? Read the Manual of Style. If you need additional help, ask an administrator, content moderator, or fellow community member! If you see a heading that only has {{TBA}} under it, don't delete it and the heading. Instead, add the appropriate information that that section calls for.
Dates
We use the International Standard date format, Day Month Year. Please do not change these dates to another format.
If you find in our pages a date such as Month Day, Year, feel free to convert it.
Editing
- Edits should have very few to no grammatical mistakes in them.
- All edits should be in US English unless it's a direct quote from a character, e.g., "color" instead of "colour"
- Sources: If you are asked for a source, you must provide one, or that information may be subject to removal.
- No copying! Please do not plagiarize articles without giving credit, like in The Addams Family! If you see plagiarism, be bold and rewrite it.

Templates
Any changes to templates are to be discussed with active admins/content mods. If the admins or content mod approves, then the changes will be added. Additionally, please do not create templates without first talking to an admin/content mod.
